JOCKEY Christian Reith has high hopes for Royal Tudor in the $150,000 Group 3 Suez Newcastle Newmarket (1400m) on Friday.
The Snippetson five-year-old has been unlucky at his two runs back this preparation, particularly first-up when he was blocked for a run in the Summer Sprint at Royal Randwick when looking like the winner.
The luck wasn’t on his side again at his next run at Rosehill Gardens, but that was due to a wide barrier which meant he had to get back and was given too much to do in the straight. But he was flashing home that day and Reith says he maps much better for this race from a good gate (5) and with just 54kg on his back.
